SleeveFace
I love having a nose at other people’s old junk at car boot sales although very rarely buy anything. They’re great if you need something in particular, like a exercise bike or a Vauxhall Haynes manual, if for some reason you want a Soda stream you could easily pick up quite a collection of them for about £3.50. I’ve not been to a car boot sale for a while, but this Sunday morning, folk across the country will be rushing down for a new reason - to rake through the boxes of dusty old LP’s!
Why? Well you can forget Bebo and Facebook, a new online craze has hit the nation - Sleeveface!

Sleeveface involves one or more persons obscuring or augmenting any part of their body or bodies with record sleeve(s) causing an illusion. Folk across the globe have got their camera’s out and raided the loft to find good old 12″ vinyls. Some resulting images are very clever; some a little scary. Nevertheless it’s certainly captured the imagination of many and around 800 photos have been uploaded to the Sleeveface Flickr site.
I’ve just been attempting to join in the fun with a Richard Ashcroft album and it’s not as easy as it looks, although a CD sleeve is a bit on the small size and I need longer/more arms, both perhaps.
Check it out for yourself, and I might see you at the car boot sale on Sunday
